Based on this sketch, a narrative will be executed. It is meant to represent a community of people. The concept, though still in development will describe one of those creatures (people) being singled out of the community, whether it be socially, physically (by disease or disability, etc.) or by other forms of neglect, rejection, or the feeling of being different. In the original idea, the character in the narrative soon finds that it is not the only one who thinks in this way, thus finding his own community of comrades. This concept is still in major development and may be subject to change throughout the process of creating this narrative. As far as physical appearance, I plan to use a multimedia surface with ink drawings to accompany little to no text.
Rather see this as a 2D sketch imagine sketching a 3D object/structure with 2D elements (images, or text). I can see a visual or found/altered book with the image of a group with one person cut out or excluded. The missing silhouette could "travel" through several pages until it finds his/her own community.
