Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas; SCOPE

Sven is the desk clerk for the Flamingo Hotel, which is also offering reserved rooms for those attending the District Attorney's Conference on narcotics and dangerous drugs. In this particular scene, Sven is unfortunate enough to encounter an unhappy police chief who's reservation was put on the late list. His reaction became a bit of a spectacle, swearing profusely; degrading and insulting Sven to the utmost degree. Sven took this as kindly and smoothly as he could, directing the man and his wife to a hotel just down the street. The scope in this scene is quite narrow, where we see what is physically going on, while we also see the workings of Sven's mind. The imagined acted over the reality; Sven yelling and swearing back at the man in rebuttal.
